Here is an old picture from a few years ago when I was newly pregnant with Theo. I have been working on updating my family albums and came across some old pictures on my phone. Sorry for being MIA on Instagram as of lately. I have been struggling with everything going on and my anxiety has been at an all time high. I found myself once again in a dark place. Fortunately I am starting to feel better and am learning to cope with it everyday. I am also very fortunate to have such a great support system to help me get through it.

🍀Happy St. Patrick’s Day🍀

I had a bunch of motivation yesterday to do a bunch of super fun St. Patrick Day activities but today I didn’t have enough energy to do it all. I had to take one of my emergency panic attack medications last night because I was feeling so terrified about everything going on in the world. That medication tends to leave me pretty groggy the following day so I was drained most of today. Even though I didn’t get to all the activities Theo and I still had fun. We had lucky charms for breakfast, went for a walk to see all the shamrocks my neighbors hung up in their windows, and ate green waffles for dinner. Trying to make the best out of all this craziness.

I am doing everything in my power to keep myself mentally healthy while everything is going on with the Coronavirus. I’ve been trying my best to stay busy while keeping a social distance. I started working out again today and it was one of the best things I could have done. I also did a mini meditation session in my backyard. Jack didn’t really get the memo that he was supposed to hold still so it was short lived. During this crazy time that we are all going through I will be sharing tips on how to stay mentally healthy along with fun activities that can be done at home. We are all in this together and I know for a fact that everything will be okay again. It may take a little bit to get to that point, but everything will be fine. We are all in this together.

Today Casey, Theo, and myself built a box fort, and it was just what we needed to calm our nerves. Especially with the worlds current situation. We found some old boxes and put them together to create something fun. I’m hoping to use it as a fun little activity the rest of the week to help make staying home fun and prevent both of us from going stir crazy. I might lay down a tarp later this week and let Theo finger paint the fort. •

Here is an old picture from a few years ago when I was newly pregnant with Theo. I have been working on updating my family albums and came across some old pictures on my phone. I earned my bachelors degree in human development

I earned my bachelors degree in human development and worked as an applied behavioral analyst prior to having Theo. Part of my job was doing fun activities with children. I have decided to revamp my blog and instagram and will be sharing more developmental type activities. I can’t wait to share the fun things I’ve been working on. I also have a few other fun things up my sleeve. •

I spent most of the afternoon folding laundry and cleaning my bathrooms. After that Theo and I went outside on the porch blew bubbles and talked about the snow melting. While my life may not be glamorous I absolutely love being able to spend my days with this sweet little toddler.

1 year ago my husband took me to the Access Center

1 year ago my husband took me to the Access Center at LDS hospital because I was going through a mental health emergency. I was in a very dark place mentally and could barely handle my anxiety. I was having panic attack after panic attack and couldn’t function. Checking into the access center was one of the best things that I could have done. I was able to get the proper care that I needed to treat my mental health. It’s crazy looking back at that moment and remembering all of those emotions and all the tears shed. Here I am a year later and I’m in a much better place. While I’m not 100% where I want to be I am in a better place and will continue to go uphill. There may be times that I go back down to those dark place, but I will continue to fight for my mental health. As hard as that experience was I am thankful for it. I learned a lot about myself and learned that I can do hard things. While I was going through this my mom told me that, “I have anxiety but anxiety doesn’t have me”. This is a moment in my life that I am proud of because of how much I overcame. Just a reminder that just because you deal with a mental illness does not mean you are broken. #endthestigma

A few weeks ago I started on a little journey to find myself and spend less time mindlessly scrolling through social media. I decided to pick up some new hobbies. I’ve recently have been learning more about house plants and am in the process of adding more to my home. It has been so therapeutic learning about them and taking care of them. I was able to keep a massive Aloe Vera plant alive for 5 years so I decided I’d try something more difficult to and am giving a fiddle leaf fig a try. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I also attempted to get a cute picture of Theo in his tie dye outfit but all he wanted to do was run. •

I just wanted to say thank you for all the kind me

I just wanted to say thank you for all the kind messages I have received as I have opened up about my mental health journey in my stories. My biggest desire when opening up about this is to bring awareness to the fact that just because you have a mental illness doesn’t mean you’re broken. And that it’s important to treat your mental illness like you would any other illness and get the help you need. If any of you ever need to talk or anything let me know because I’m here for you.

One thing I have learned since becoming a mom is h

One thing I have learned since becoming a mom is how unpredictable motherhood is and how it’s ok if things don’t go as planned. Today I planned to swim 500 meters but that didn’t work out because Theo wasn’t feeling like staying in the daycare gym. After that we came home and had lunch. Well when it came time for his nap he decided he didn’t want to nap. So I spent 2 hours trying to get him to take a nap so that I could get some stuff done. Well here we are 2 hours later snuggling in bed with his Buzz Lightyear watching Toy Story on @disneyplus for the millionth time this week. While I was really looking forward to taking a shower and getting stuff done during his nap. I wouldn’t trade these wonderful moments for anything.

Traveling to Mexico somehow reset me and gave me the motivation to change my life. I’ll be honest I’m addicted to my phone and spend a good majority of my day mindlessly scrolling through social media. While traveling I felt rejuvenated and I wanted to carry that feeling with me home. •

I have decided to start filling my time with other things besides scrolling through my phone. One of my goals is to learn Spanish (my husband is fluent). I downloaded an app and have been learning a lot. Hoping I can be semi fluent 1 year from now. •
•
I have also set a goal to get back into shape and hopefully lose some weight. I’ll be sharing that journey on insta stories. I am a binge eater so I have been doing intermittent fasting to learn healthier habits. •
•
I am looking forward to seeing where all of these goals will take me and hopefully get into a better mindset. And take control of my mental health.

Today was definitely a lot of fun. We did a glass boat tour, went out to the arch, went to lovers beach and divorce beach. 7 years ago we did the exact same tour as a newly engaged couple. It was fun to go back and see it all. After our tour we walked around Cabo found some churrohs, el pastor tacos, and camote combinado con platanos y dulce de leche. So thankful that Casey speaks fluent Spanish because it sure makes communicating with the locals so much easier. •

Today was definitely one for the books. Woke up at 4:30am and went deep sea fishing. Caught 4 fish. Released 3 of them and gave one to the captain. Saw whales, turtles, and sea lion. Pancho (the sea lion) didn’t like the fish I gave him and gave me puppy dog eyes. Swipe to see more pictures and videos.
