Throwing it back to Theo’s first ever Halloween. We dressed up as characters from Napoleon Dynamite. Theo was the cutest little Napoleon dynamite. I’m excited to show you all what I have planned for this year.

I am just loving all the fun fall colors everywher

I am just loving all the fun fall colors everywhere. AD This toddler cot from @babydelightinc has been the perfect bed for Theo whenever we go camping or visit someone’s house. It’s pretty light and folds into a bed really easily. Theo loved sleeping on it on our last camping trip. @gowithme.babydelight

Often when I come on Instagram I see perfect house

Often when I come on Instagram I see perfect houses that are perfectly clean, perfect family photos, perfectly filtered lives, etc… While I do love and enjoy seeing those photos and appreciate the hard work people put in. I also feel like it’s important to share the every day real stuff every so often. So here is my messy unfiltered front (minus making it brighter) front room. It was clean 5 minutes prior to the picture being taken. While my house isn’t perfectly clean or perfectly decorated I am thankful for it and all that it is.

Made a spontaneous trip to Silver Lake with my fri

Made a spontaneous trip to Silver Lake with my friends and their kids. We saw a blue jay and a beavers lodge. Also enjoyed playing in the snow. Even though it ended up with me barfing on the side of the freeway (I got car sick). It was still a great day. I am thankful to have a wonderful group of friends to do spontaneous things with. Repeat After Me. Taking time for myself makes me a better mom.
Lets talk about mom burnout. As a mom I often feel guilty for wanting to spend time away from the family. But guess what? That’s not a bad thing and it doesn’t make you a bad mom for wanting some alone time. Aside from being a mom you’re also an individual human being. I often hear other moms talk about how they lose themselves in motherhood. It is so important to take time for yourself and focus on yourself as an individual. For the longest time I had lost myself in motherhood.
Whenever someone would ask me what my hobbies were or what I did for myself I never knew how to answer. Last winter I made some wonderful mom friends who encouraged me to take time for myself. I have found that taking time for myself helps me to be a better mom. I’m more patient, loving, and energetic when I get time for myself. So mamas do yourself a favor and plan to have at least 2 hours to yourself.
